Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our maple syrup and maple taffy are made with 100% pure maple syrup, with no additional ingredients added. To help us plan safely, please let us know in advance about any student allergies or dietary concerns.
-
Presentations are available January through early May. We recommend booking early, as February and March are especially popular and can fill up quickly. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have to find a date that works best for your school.
-
Very little! All we need from your team is access to the space where the experience will take place, a schedule for the day, and access to electrical outlets. We bring all our own equipment and materials and take care of the setup and preparation, so there’s no need to worry about organizing supplies or equipment on your end.
-
Students who are fasting for Ramadan are welcome to participate in our experience. As they may be fasting during the day, the school is responsible for providing a suitable way to store the maple syrup or maple taffy so students can take it home to enjoy later. If a large portion of your school community will be fasting for Ramadan, we recommend booking outside of Ramadan when possible to allow everyone to fully enjoy the experience.
-
If transportation is cancelled due to severe weather or another unforeseen circumstance, we’ll work with your school to find the next mutually available date and reschedule the experience. We understand that some things are simply out of everyone’s control, and we’ll do our best to make the process as easy as possible.
-
Absolutely! We understand that French comprehension can vary from school to school and from grade to grade. Before your visit, we’ll connect with school staff to better understand your students’ level of French and determine the most effective balance of English and French. Our goal is to make sure students can follow, enjoy, and actively engage with the presentation(s), whether that means a 50/50 bilingual format or adjusting the balance to best suit your group.
-
We do not require access to your school kitchen. We only need access to safe drinking water and, for the Maple Taffy Experience, access to a freezer to keep the taffy at the proper temperature until it is ready to be served.
-
Not at all! We can adapt to a variety of school spaces, including classrooms, libraries, cafeterias, and gyms. The best space will depend on your group size, and we’re happy to work with you to find an option that fits your school.
